Overview
The Vascular Biology and Hypertension Program of the University of Alabama at Birmingham offers postdoctoral training in fundamental aspects of hypertension and vascular biology research. The Program emphasizes cellular and molecular approaches to the study of cardiovascular control mechanisms. This multidisciplinary program includes faculty from the Departments of Medicine, Anesthesiology, Pathology, Physiology and Biophysics, and Surgery. Each trainee is given in-depth experience in one area of investigation and broad exposure to the overall area of hypertension research. This is an NIH-funded training program. Applicants must hold M.D., D.V.M., D.D.S., O.D., Ph.D., or equivalent degrees and must be United States citizens or permanent residents by the time of fellowship activation.
